Vendor Help - Start Here
1. Create your account.
- Click the Vendor Registration link in our website.
- Fill out the required details (for store name, just put your name unless you already run a specific brand name).
- Follow the set-up wizard. (The only necessary fields for you are your name, and login. The rest are taken care of by the site, so you can skip most of it.)
- Once Approved, scroll down to the bottom of any page and click “Store Manager“
- Log in.
2. Set up payment info.
We will send payouts manually until we can pay for the premium version of our back end software. Once we are able to upgrade, we will ask you to update this info again to be able to receive payments automatically.
- Once you’ve logged in, you should see your dashboard. From there go to Settings, then find Payment Settings.
- Enter your preferred payout method details (PayPal email, Zelle info, etc.) Checks are discouraged but possible; they will only be sent for $20 or more.
- Payouts will be processed manually on a set schedule depending on if you have earned any royalties. However, if you would like to remind us that you need to get paid, there is a payment request button in your payment tracker.
3. Add your music PDF
What you’ll need: (1.) Screenshot of first page of the PDF, (2.) The PDF itself, (3.) A description (try telling ChatGPT about your song and ask it for a descrition😉. It’s great! If you have lyrics, include those in the description.
- Once you have everything together, go back to your dashboard, find “Products” and click “Add New.”
- Follow the steps to fill out the information. (The more you put in, the better. Don’t forget about the category. Everything you enter should be under the parent category, Music.)
- When you’re done, push “Submit.”
- Your song should be live in the store within a few minutes.
4. Pricing Formula
You are able to price your music as you wish. We ask that you do not go below $1.00 as SpeerLife would get negative money on every sale of a song set below that price, because we give so much of the sale price to you. We do have a formula that you can follow if you don’t have a good idea of what to charge.
Sheet music price = $0.04 x number of measures x number of staffs.
Example: “How Great Thou Art” Piano Solo has 42 measures. It’s a piano piece, which means it has a total of 2 staffs. The equation would look as follows:
$0.04 x 42 x 2 =$3.36
Obviously, if your song is extremely advanced, you’d want to charge a bit more for your work, like maybe 1-2 more cents per measure; and vise versa for less advanced pieces.
This formula only works for smaller works. Larger works (i.e. for choirs, ensembles, and orchestras especially where it is expected of the buyer to purchase multiple copies) you may need to make other considerations. We will be working on a guide formula for those as well.
